Race Information
- The Mey 10k event is now full and entry has been CLOSED. A waiting list is available and if you would like to be added, please e-mail - mey10k@hotmail.co.uk.
- No entries on the day.
- Race entry limit of 300 runners.
- Minimum age for SAL registered runners is 15 on day of race.
- Minimum age for all other runners is 16 on day of race.
- The race will start at 14.00.
- Registration will be open from 12.00 - 13.30 and runners will need to collect their race numbers and timing chip from there.
- The Registration Tent will be adjacent to the Castle of Mey.
- T-shirts should be collected in the Registration Tent before the race starts.
- Before the race starts we ask all runners to stay off the road to allow access and egress for castle visitors.
- The course is SAL measured and is undulating with a short off-road section in the first 1.5 miles and an out and back section.
- There will be a water station at 3 miles and at the finish. Please ensure you drink plenty of fluids before, during and after the event.
- There will be two race lead cyclists and a sweep vehicle.
- The race route will close at 15.30.
- Timing chips must be returned after the race. A charge of £5 will be enforced for non-returned chips.
- Please obey the instructions of the marshals at all times, taking particular note at road junctions.
- MP3 players are not permitted and we appreciate your cooperation with this instruction.
If you cannot take part please e-mail - mey10k@hotmail.co.uk - as soon as possible. Your race fee is non-refundable.
Children's Fun Run
- A 2km Children's Fun Run will be held at 1.00pm.
- There will be a cost of £2 to enter, with registration on the day.
- Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult.
Parking / Refreshments
- Parking available at the Castle of Mey - please car share with fellow runners and family and friends.
- There will be a £1 parking charge per car. The proceeds will be donated to the Castle of Mey Trust.
- Refreshments are available in the Castle of Mey visitor centre.
Toilet and Changing Facilities
- Toilets and basic changing facilities will be available close to the start / finish area.
- There are no showering facilities.

A runner will only be eligible to win one individual prize. Team prizes are additional to the individual categories. Prize giving will take place at 15.45 close to the start/finish and registration area.
Finishing Area
- After crossing the finish line, marshals will be available to help remove timing chips.
- Runners can then collect a goody bag containing a memento of the race.
- Only once runners have returned their timing chip and collected their goody bag, can they then join their family and friends.

- We hope to have the race results available on the day and on this website the following day.
Directions to the Castle of Mey
- The Castle of Mey is located on the north coast of Caithness on the A836.
- It is about 15 miles east of Thurso and six miles west of John O'Groats.

Spectators
- Spectators are welcome to the Castle of Mey on race day.
- There will be a £1 parking charge per car. The proceeds will be donated to the Castle of Mey Trust.
