Report 4 - Week beginning 26/01/09

Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?

No change from last week, although things are getting a little easier.

Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.

I had hoped to get in a few more runs this week as I was on annual leave, but I have discovered that I am definitely a fair weather runner. Only managed three runs.

How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?

Still running in the early morning, so getting out of bed on wet and windy mornings when I didn't need to be up for work was not easy. I failed twice.

Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?

Still no improvement in speed. Breathing is getting easier and the legs are less tired and heavy at the end. I guess this means I am not working hard enough and will need to push a bit harder next week.

Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?

Haven't changed the route yet, but have worked out the next phase. All I need now is the determination to go the extra mile (literally).

Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?

Same as before. Still far to easy to stop with no-one egging me on.

Any injuries?

A few aches and pains, but nothing requiring anything more than a hot bath and a cold beer.

Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?

I'm less tired in the evenings than before I started training. This is a good thing as I start studying again in February and will need to spend a lot of time in the evenings concentrating on course material.

Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, Pilates?

Still nothing outside the runs. Must get something organised.

Any other observations?

I don't feel much different that before I started apart from the odd ache and feeling less tired in the evenings.

I was chatting to a friend I hadn't seen for a while at my daughter's birthday party and she remarked that I looked like I had lost a little weight. I haven't been weighing myself so I can't confirm this.
