Report 11 - Week beginning 22/03/10
Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?
3 runs this week.
Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.
Not as much as I hoped for due to my knee.
How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?
No real highs and a real low on Thursday when I had to stop running as my knee was sore. It is the first time I have actually had to stop running.
Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?
Another pretty static week in all areas.
Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?
On Tuesday I ran 3.5 miles in Halkirk at a reasonable pace for me with my knee only giving me a little discomfort so I felt quite encouraged. On Thursday I managed just over 3 miles in Thurso before I quit as the pain was starting to get to me and I did not want to do more damage. On Sunday morning I ran with Sandra in Broubster forest and we did just over 3 miles at a gentler pace and although I had a little discomfort in my knee it got no worse from start to finish.
Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?
Twice my own and once with Sandra.
Any injuries?
Right knee!!
Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?
-
Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?
No other exercise.
Any other observations?
I will run on Tuesday this week and if my knee plays up then I will have a week of the running. With May getting ever closer I am concerned that this injury won't clear up so fingers crossed.
