Report 12 - Week beginning 29/03/10
Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?
Three Runs this week.
Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.
It was an OK weeks training and pleased with my Sunday run.
How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?
No lows while running only highs and pleased how I felt during my runs. Major low after Sunday's run a few hours after I finished as my knee got really sore.
Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?
Felt slight progress was being made as the week went on especially my breathing on Sunday.
Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?
I was in Edinburgh for a meeting on Tuesday and I ran about 3 miles around the Meadows early in the morning I enjoyed the run and the only hazard was the branches falling off the trees in the high winds and landing at times reasonably close to me! On Thursday after work I ran with Sandra in Wick we did a few laps round the river managing to cover over 3 miles, I did the first bit off the run with Sandra then I upped my pace and finished on my own. On Sunday morning I ran again with Sandra in Halkirk we ran at a steady pace and did just over 5 miles I felt good throughout the run.
Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?
Once my own and twice with Sandra.
Any injuries?
My troublesome knee felt good all week during training and no after effects until Sunday when after we finished it got progressively sorer as the day went on and I now fear I am back to square 1 with it.
Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?
Felt good all week.
Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?
1 gym session on Friday.
Any other observations?
Going to have a week off running to give my knee a chance. I am really brassed off with having to do this but hopefully it will be for the best and then I can gradually pick things up and move on as May is now fast approaching.
