Report 3 - Week beginning 25/01/10

Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?

No this week I moved on well ahead of the programme, mainly due to me feeling much fitter.

Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.

Still managing to do a lot more than my expectations.

How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?

Highs and higher, really starting to feel the benefits.

Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?

Yes seeing big improvements in distance and breathing although my speed could be described as two gears - slow and slower

Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?

Did 3 runs this week. First run was outside where I ran for 8 mins walked for 1 min 30 secs and then ran for 16 mins felt OK. Gym on Friday due to poor weather, clad in my new running gear and equipped with my Wife's i Pod I thought the guy in the mirror in the gym was starting to look slightly more like an athlete than a sumo wrestler which inspired me to run for 30 mins uninterrupted I felt well pleased. Sunday I went to the forest at Dunnet with The Taskmaster (Sandra) we ran for 32 mins with no stops and I felt good at the end.

Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?

Much prefer running with someone I find it at lot less boring.

Any injuries?

I have spent the most of January in a hot bath relieving my very sore legs but I think the soreness is slightly on the decline, and thankfully no injuries.

Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?

Yes really starting to feel much better, healthier and fitter which was my main aim when I set out on this exercise but there is still a long way to go.

Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?

Played Squash 3 times this week and have managed to get up to league 5.

Any other observations?

Now smitten with the fitness bug. I cant honestly admit to actually enjoying running when at it but I am getting a big buzz after it so fingers crossed as I get fitter I may start getting some enjoyment when I run.
